University of Nairobi Strengthens Global Partnerships through Collaboration with LEADS GLOBAL
The University of Nairobi has signed a collaboration agreement with LEADS GLOBAL, an international company which supports organizations, systems, and leaders through evidence-informed leadership development, consulting, learning programs, and strategic partnerships. The signing of the partnership agreement heralds the establishment of the University of Nairobi School of Leadership -a multi-disciplinary centre offering strategic and transformational leadership for contemporary volatile and complex world.
The agreement, signed on 4th August 2026 at the University of Nairobi Towers by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ayub Gitau and Dr. Betty Mutwiri, LEADS GLOBAL Associate, establishes a strategic partnership focused on expanding academic collaboration and developing solutions to real-world challenges.
The partnership will support joint research, resource mobilization, leadership development, academic programme development, staff and student exchanges, online learning, conferences, and experiential education while fostering stronger links between academia and industry.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Prof. Ayub Gitau emphasized the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration and closer partnerships with industry to produce graduates equipped for today's dynamic workforce. He also reaffirmed his vision of positioning the University of Nairobi as a leading centre for leadership development, noting that leadership training should be embedded within the University's academic programmes to ensure lasting impact.
Dr. Betty Mutwiri highlighted the need for transformational and ethical leadership programmes that address both macro and micro challenges. She described the University of Nairobi as a forward-thinking institution well positioned to shape Africa's future through innovation, collaboration, and academic excellence.
The partnership complements the University's growing international network, including its ongoing collaboration with the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, further strengthening its commitment to global engagement, research excellence, and impactful leadership development
