University of Nairobi Flags Off Students for International Mobility in France
The University of Nairobi has flagged off nine students from the Faculties of Engineering and Science & Technology who will pursue academic opportunities in France during the 2025/2026 academic year. To secure these mobilities, the students have earned highly competitive scholarships from the French Embassy in Kenya and the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme.
A brief flag-off ceremony was held at the University Advancement Office, bringing together the Director of University Advancement, Prof. George Abong’; Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Siphila Wanjiku Mumenya; Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. John Orindi; Prof. Marc Zolver, an international industry–academia expert; faculty members; and University Advancement staff. The students are also beneficiaries of the Company Series program, an initiative by University Advancement that connects students, faculty, and industry leaders.
- Eight students will gain international exposure through internships and semester exchange in French institutions, including École de Ponts (ENPC), Chimie ParisTech, and CentraleSupélec.
- One student, John Mambo (from the faculty of engineering), will pursue a full master’s program in Hydraulic Civil and Environmental Engineering at Université Grenoble Alpes.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Director, University Advancement, and Dean, Faculty of Engineering, commended the students for their achievement and emphasised the importance of international exposure in building global competencies.
We congratulate the nine students and wish them great success as they embark on this transformative journey in France.
