1. How do I apply for a programme offered at the University of Nairobi? To make an application for the courses offered at the University please visit application.uonbi.ac.ke register and follow the steps to make your application.
  2. How will I be notified about my application? The progress of the application will be posted on your application portal, when admitted an admission letter will be posted on your portal.
  3. Will the courses offered in the May & September 2021 Intake have an online mode of study? The University will advise on mode of study in due course.
  4. How do I set up a University email account? Login to your smis portal on the home page click update my profile and follow the instructions to create your uonbi email.
  5. Do we have Engineering and science related programmes on the online mode of study? The various departments will communicate with the students on the information on mode of study
  6. The fees for online programmes mode similar to the face to face mode of learning? The fee remains similar until further communication.

  10. What happens to those who missed some sessions earlier? Liaise with the class representative to find a solution with the lecturer
  11. How do I access reading materials on E-Class portal as a student? Login into SMIS update your profile and generate a username and password on the UoN website E-Class portal.
  12. Are there other available avenues for fees payment other than ABSA Bank deposit?

Students can pay their fees through M-pesa Paybill number 300059, Account number is your Student Registration Number

  1. Am I able to replace my student Identification card during this time? Make your application online through the SMIS portal a you will receive feedback on collection.
  2. I want to apply for a programme but I have not collected my transcript and certificate from UoN examinations office, am I eligible for admission? Yes. Do make your application and your admission will be processed.
  3. Can one use a personal email address to access online teaching? It is important to set up a university email address (uonbi) for communication and ease of access of online learning.
