UoN Choir wows Kenyans
The University of Nairobi Choir, is one of the Choirs that were invited by the Presidential National Music Commission, to perform during this year’s Mashujaa Day Celebrations, at Moi Stadium in Kisumu. The culmination of their performance was when Kisumu Town East MP, Shakeel Shabbir joined them in the song and dance celebrating the nation’s heroes.
The University Choir, which is popularly known for its unique set of African themed songs has grown in stature and influence since its formation over thirty years ago.
The Choir has also served an important function by performing during important University ceremonies among them graduations, public lectures and programme launches. Indeed, given its exemplary performances, the UoN choir has continued to bag awards during music recitals and national competitions, and is among the leading choirs in the country.
The choir has also emerged as the epitome of the University of Nairobi’s image and a monument of cultural dissemination and growth.
Kudos to the Choir for doing us proud and keeping our motto unitate et labore flying high.
