First year students admitted to the University of Nairobi for the academic year 2012/2013 have already settled down in their new life and progressing well with their academic life.

Despite the scheduled orientation week having been disrupted by the nationwide university staff strike, the first years have been exposed in detail to the facilities in their respective colleges and campuses and those of the entire University through orientation. Academic activities comprising lectures, practicals and tutorials are going on normally since last week when the industrial action by members of staff was called off.
