The University of Nairobi recently signed a memorandum of understanding with China’s University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST). The agreement will enhance relations between the two universities and develop academic and cultural interchange in the areas of education, research and other activities.
In addition, the two institutions will run different programmes such as the exchange of faculty members and students, joint research projects, conferences and cultural programmes. The universities will cooperate and work together toward the internalization of higher education.
The signing ceremony was graced by Prof. Peter Mbithi, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration and Finance, UoN and Prof. Yan Shuang, the Chancellor, USST.

Prof. Shuang congratulated UoN for standing out as an institution of academic excellence not only locally but also internationally. The partnership will enable the institutions to play an important role in the growth and development of science and technology.
USST will give two fully paid scholarships to UoN. If more students show interest to join USST, the two institutions will look into how to make it possible.
