Sustainable Living with Environmental Risk (SLER) is a programme strongly committed to offering a range of courses to broaden way of thinking and develop expertise in interdisciplinary risk-inclusive research fields for international students from Africa and Asia.

Kenya, represented by the University of Nairobi is one of the collaborating countries. The programme is coordinated by Yokohama National University, Japan and is very relevant to both undergraduates and postgraduate students. Students in the faculties of science, agriculture, engineering and architecture are encouraged to participate

Once more, we have a new series of lectures under the Sustainable Living with Environmental Risk (SLER) program. The lectures are delivered via advanced video conference (Interactive Multimedia Education System -IME) from any partner University site. The current season starts on 8th October and will be delivered every Tuesday at 10.00am until January 2014. The venue at UoN is at the School of Biological Sciences Seminar Room (Block 1).

Interested students can register by sending an e-mail to pwachira@uonbi.ac.ke and after full participation they will get a certificate, while the student with the best proposal will be selected for a 2 week intensive course in Japan next year.

Eligibility criteria and application can be found at: http://www.sler.ynu.ac.jp/en/home
