University of Nairobi leads in web rankings

The University of Nairobi (UoN) is confirmed as the top ranked University locally according to Webometric Ranking of World universities. UoN is ranked 2nd in East Africa, 17th in Africa and 1,367 worldwide, a massive improvement from previous rankings and the best position ever attained by a local university.
It is second to Makerere University while University of Cape Town leads the rankings in Africa.
The top positions in the world are dominated by universities from the United States which scooped 394 positions among the top 1000, and was followed by Canada and Western Europe countries.
In Africa, only University of Cape Town was ranked among the top 500 at position 366. Eight of the top ranked universities in Africa are from South Africa while two are from Egypt.
Other Kenyan universities ranked in Africa included Strathmore at 54, Egerton at 60 and Kenyatta University at 61. For more information please visit the webometics website
In another ranking by 4 International Colleges and Universities UoN emerged 11 in Africa and top in East Africa, ahead of Makerere University which was ranked 12. Details on this ranking is available at the 4ICU website

As a former student of UON i am very happy at the changes I have seen in this university in the last ten years. I believe this university has a lot of potential in academics and that we can do much better. Keep it up.

am happy about that.
but i have a complain on how the university plans its events,i am a concerned student who believes that the university could do better on this matter.
How do you plan events or even public lectures in halls you know there are classes to be carried out there without even putting a notice on an alternative hall to carry out the class lesson that was supposed to be.
i have seen this happen again and again and no one has bothered to address the matter!!its very frustrating!!!
