University Of Nairobi Enters Memorandum of Understanding with Kanazawa University, Japan
The Vice Chancellor of University of Nairobi Prof. George A. O. Magoha and the President of Kanazawa University, Japan, Prof. Shin-ichi Nakamura signed a Memorandum of Understanding on October 4, 2011 at Kanazawa University, Japan. Kanazawa University, ranked 21 out of the 732 universities in Japan, has 547 funded projects amounting to approximately 1.6 billion Japanese yen for the current year and is uniquely strong in Medicine, Engineering, Law, Pharmaceutical and Environmental Sciences among others.
This memorandum will facilitate collaboration in areas including but not limited to: (i)Exchange of academic material, students, faculty and research fellows (ii) Joint research and publication.
The Vice Chancellor, accompanied by Prof. Charles O. A. Omwandho, the Dean of School of Medicine of the University of Nairobi also held initial meeting with Prof. Tadao Bamba, President of Shiga University of Medical Sciences on October 5, 2011.
It is envisaged that the University of Nairobi will enter similar agreement with Shiga University of Medical Sciences in future.
