Innovation for African Universities Programme
Innovation for African Universities Programme
Centre of Excellence - University of Nairobi | City University of London| Change School
The British Council launched the inaugural Innovation for African Universities (IAU) Programme in 2021. The programme will be delivered by a Centre of Excellence consisting of tripartite partners – University of Nairobi, City University of London, and Change School. The CoE will develop a network of collaborative partnerships which support an exchange of learning that fosters an increased culture of entrepreneurship and innovation within universities across focal programme locations; the United Kingdom, Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, and Ghana. Africa’s youth population is rapidly growing and is expected to double to over 830 million by 2050. With the support of the global higher education and entrepreneurship ecosystems, this increase in the working-age population could support increased productivity and stronger, more inclusive economic growth across the continent. IAU aims to support young people in Africa in becoming job creators and not the job seekers of tomorrow. Read more
