The University of Nairobi was recognized by the Directorate of National Cohesion and Values (domiciled in the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government) for its tireless efforts in implementing the National Values Agenda.  

The Directorate of National Cohesion and Values is mandated to conduct an analysis and evaluation of annual reports submitted by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) under the national cohesion and values indicator guidelines for the 2020/2021 performance contracting cycle. These annual reports inform the Annual President’s Report on measures taken and progress achieved in the realization of National Values and Principles of Governance.

In light of this, the University of Nairobi was recognized under the Universities and Colleges category for adhering to Performance Contracting targets and Complying with the 17 National Values.

 A certificate of compliance was awarded for collaborating and cooperating in the mainstreaming of national values and principles of governance in its programmes, projects and activities and reporting through the performance contracting platform.
