Kudos.... its something to keep my pride. As other universities fight to fill up the newspaper pages and and campusses in every small village, his institution has remained focussed on quality management, rather than making money! Lets keep up the effort, no need for more campusses, but higher quality!!

Good work there! I am an LKC alumni and i am happy to see that u are doing something to change the face of that campus. It was more of a high school when i was there! I went back there i July and things have really changed. VC, good work but we are not yet there..there is more to be done. Mind also the staff welfare.

IS IT NOT ENOUGH TO BE No 1 AND TO RETAIN THAT POSITION?
I MY VIEW WE ALREADY HAVE IT (..THE MORE), THE BEST REWARD IS TO KNOW AND REALISE THAT OUR INDIVIDUAL EFFORTS COMBINE TO FORM A SYNERGY THAT HAS FAR SURPASSED OUR COMPETITORS.

True we are better than many but let us not become complacent. This should keep us on our toes. More physical facilities and better working conditions for all our students and staff Bwana prof. We have enough land. Any bank would be willing to finance development (F.O. please spearhead). KU has excelled in this. Let us become world class not just on the face but also beneath the garments. We have met our vision and mission for the second time due to the promise you made to your staff, can you call another party and give us another false promise. Why do you want to accumulate them.

yes we have done it again. but management should take care of the people who has made this achievement. the employees of this university have worked very hard. bwana .VC. you should remember that these people are going alot of difficulties due to your refusal to bangain for their muguu allowances since 2008. they walk to their places of work. stop using them as your slaves give them what is rightfuly theirs.

Congrats to the management, staff and students for a sterling performance. But I think this great institution is capable of even better. It has excellent brains, trained in the best institutions world wide. Bwana VC, you have done a good job in managing student affairs. But to achieve even better results, you need to engage staff; that is the engine. You need to visit campuses and talk to staff - informally; hear their woes firsthand; understand their aspirations and their frustrations, and promote team work. Deeply think about staff welfare; seek ways of boosting their morale. Make it more participatory. You'll have gone to the root of the problem. Communicate to them directly; eg use a weekly or biweekly email circular of your own observations and things you feel strongly about ( ...call it 'From VCs desk', or 'UON this week', etc). Encourage people to solve their problems and come up with ideas of dealing with challenges facing us. I am sure the govt will be sympathetic to our case.

Best wishes,
PK

I fully agree with ur issues bwana PK. As an old student of Upper Kabete campus, i saw there was too much formal procedures when dealing with staf n students issues...! I believe a more informal aproach would do better, so that everyone shares in the vission of the top management.
