IAGAS holds public forum

The discussions explored the challenges faced by those who work in emergency situations and brings on board the opportunities available for students and other humanitarian actors regionally and internationally.
In addition, students were exposed to the different United Nations Agencies and possibilities of internships to practice their theoretical skills. In addition, the sessions increased the networking among members of staff at the University and the staff at the various agencies represented. The forum brought together experts from the University of Nairobi and the United Nation Agencies among them UNFPA, UNICEF and UNHCR and the European Commission.
Speaking during the event, the Principal, College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) Prof. Enos Njeru said the forum was important in strengthening public-private partnership as well as presenting an opportunity for students to network and experience real life environment.
On his part, the Director, IAGAS, Dr. Owuor Olungah said that the institute was committed to the pursuit of knowledge through all avenues. Dr. Olungah, revealed that the institute will strengthen collaborations with key partners by holding monthly or quarterly seminars on various practical issues.
