The University of Nairobi has opened its doors to the public for the 8th Open Day. The 3-day event running from February 1st to 3rd, 2018, is being held at the Great Court, Main Campus. All colleges and central administration units have set up camp at the event, meeting and engaging both internal and external stakeholders.

“Open Days are important in demystifying the University,” said Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi. “It provides our prospective students the opportunity to interact with the faculty. We shall continue to intensify our interaction with you so as to give them the opportunity to enrich our curriculum.”

Further, Prof. Mbithi urged academic stakeholders to start interrogating the new curriculum.

“As Kenya embarks on the rough path of overhauling its education system, I challenge all of us to reflect seriously on this matter,” he said. “I urge the scholars and educationists to interrogate the proposed curriculum ultimately with a view to improving it and preparing ourselves in advance in all spheres to make it succeed. Forward planning is necessary for the success of the proposed curriculum.”

“The annual open day accords the University an opportunity to showcase our programmes and products. We invite prospective students, parents and guardians to come and learn more about what we have on offer,” said the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Prof. Henry Mutoro.
