6-Month Medium Term Trainees Orientation
The University of Nairobi HIV Capacity building fellowship usually offers training in three pronged approaches: 2-year fellowship, 6-month medium term training and targeted short courses training that are both face-face and online.
The entry requirements for the 6-month trainees are: Must have a bachelor’s degree in any field; Must be an employee of a PLP for at least 2 years and nominated by the PLP.
The 6-month medium term trainees undergo 6 weeks didactic training and 18 weeks in experiential learning/project implementation during which they work in conjunction with 2-year fellows in the Participating Local Partners to implement projects.
The tracks offered in the medium term training are: HIV Program Management, Health Economics, Health Informatics, Monitoring & Evaluation and Epidemiology & Bio Statistics.
During the medium-term trainees orientation fellows went through: Overview of the University of Nairobi HIV Capacity Building Fellowship; fellows’, sponsors’ and participating local partners’ responsibilities; program rules and regulations; awards; program structure and course content.
