e-BScN Review Workshop

The workshop held at Maanzoni Lodge from 26th to 29th October 2015 was a continuation effort by both University of Nairobi and AMREF-Kenya to streamline the e-BScN course for the nurses to meet the best curriculum standards.

The development of e-content for blended e-BScN for the School of Nursing was supported by Partnerships for Innovative Medical Education in Kenya (PRIME-K) through AIM 1. The purpose of this curriculum development initiative was to help in training of Nurses in the upgrading system from diploma to degree level.

The workshop purpose was revision of two modules (pharmacology and microbiology) for EBSN curriculum review.

The workshop was opened by the Director School of Nursing, Prof. Grace Omoni. She welcomed everybody to the workshop and appreciated the efforts that each stakeholder has given towards the success the e-BScN course.

The participants reviewed the course content with reference with the University Curriculum which is currently in use and also the curriculum that the one at Nursing Council of Kenya. This guided on the changes to be made based on the need assessment that was carried out previously, and the reports by the members of faculty.
