The overall goal of this project is to improve the health of LVB communities and empower them economically through research knowledge in urban and peri-urban livestock keeping. The project will also generate new knowledge with regard to biological health risks resulting from the Livestock keeping activities and hence inform policy among the local authorities. The project sites are Kisumu, Entebbe and Mwanza. All the epidemiological data will be collated to develop an information awareness and control package for the zoonotic diseases. Awareness will be created on the presence of the zoonotic diseases and disseminate the control packages to relevant stakeholders.
