School of Journalism enters into talks with Communication University

Prof. Isaac Mbeche, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Student Affairs, gives Prof. Liu Jinan, Honorary President, Communication University of China a gift when she visited the University.

 

The University of Nairobi recognizes that an education with an international character is necessary to equip students with the knowledge and skills for their survival and growth, in a competitive labour market. The University has established various links and partnerships with other world-class universities.

To this end, the School of Journalism recently entered into deliberations with a delegation from the Communication University of China. The two institutions have a lot in common especially in the programmes offered and are looking at ways of collaborating in the fields of communication, research and staff and student exchange. The collaboration will also be keen on projects promoting women in communication.

Lanzhou University delegation visits UoN

As part of the familiarization steps towards realization of the objectives of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the University of Nairobi (UoN) and Lanzhou University (LZU), China, a delegation from LZU visited UoN.

The two universities recently signed an MOU that will see them collaborate in agriculture related projects especially in research, students and staff exchange and training.

DRUSSA partners visit UON

After a successful expression of interest to participate in Development Research Uptake in Sub-Saharan Africa (DRUSSA) Programme, the University of Nairobi (UoN) is having a series of meetings with DRUSSA partners visiting the institution.

UON Agriculture Alumni Chapter launched

In a colourful ceremony held at the Laico Regency Hotel, University Of Nairobi Alumni Association (UONAA) Agriculture Alumni Chapter was launched.

The well attended event attracted many University of Nairobi (UoN) alumni. Some members of the first cohort of the Faculty of Agriculture – class of 1973 were also present.

The chief guest Hon. Ekwee Ethuro, Member of Parliament, Turkana Central, congratulated the University on the launch of the new chapter. He challenged the alumni association to keep its members updated on its activities and engage them in various projects. He highlighted the need to create and strengthen relationships between the University and the private sector players.
