Community Tensions, Dialogue and Peace building Conference Date: 10th - 11th of July, 2012. Venue: Crowne Plaza – NairobiSummary The University of Nairobi, Department of Educational studies, in partnership with Makerere University, Uganda, Coventry University, UK, British Council, Kenya , National Steering Committee on Peacebuilding and Conflict Management (NSC) and National Cohesion & Integration Commission (NCIC) is organizing an international conference on Community tensions, dialogue and peace-building. The aim of the conference is to share methods and tools for monitoring community tensions and to explore their transferability to community and peace-building practice. As a practical contribution to this important agenda, the conference will bring expert voices together, share practices and help build a shared future. An important outcome of the conference will be the establishment of a continuing network combining practitioners and academics, and the continuing sharing of ideas, knowledge and practice. The conference is scheduled to take place on the 10th and 11th of July 2012 at the Crowne Plaza, Nairobi.
