Principal College of Health Sciences reappointed for a second term
Prof. Isaac O. Kibwage has been reappointed as principal of the College of Health Sciences. The reappointment which was made by the University of Nairobi Council in consultation with the Government and the Chancellor will see Prof. Kibwage serve in this capacity for another five years.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in 1979 from the University of Nairobi (UoN). In 1980, he was appointed a Graduate Student by UoN and awarded a full scholarship by the Kingdom of Belgium to pursue postgraduate studies in KU-Leuven, obtaining a Masters in 1982 and PhD in 1985.
In 1986, he joined the Department of Pharmacy as a lecturer and rose to position of Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2000. He has authored over 68 papers in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
Prof. Kibwage is a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya (PSK) and a recipient of Kenya Head of State Commendation for contributions to health. He is a Chartered Scientist and Chemist and member of Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), New York Academy of Sciences, American Association for Advancement of the Sciences and PSK. He has been Chairman of Department and Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy.
