Prof. Patrick Alila	was in South Africa from April14-18, 2008 attending the ‘Launch Meeting’ of the joint IDS-Nairobi, University of Cape Town and University of Dar-es-Salaam ACET Research Project.
Dr. Rosemary Atieno	was in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for the African Economic Conference, November 15-17, 2007; at IDS Sussex, UK February 13-17, 2008, attending the ‘Future Agriculture Consortium Planning Workshop’; on April 7-12, 2008, she was in Durban, South Africa for the ‘Regional Workshop on Labour Market Analysis in English Speaking African Countries’.
Dr. Karuti Kanyinga	was in Dakar, Senegal February 3-19, 2008, for the ‘Researchers Workshop – Open Society African Forum’; February 13-17, 2008 at IDS Sussex, UK for the ‘Future Agriculture Consortium Planning Workshop’; and April 29-May 2, 2008 in Kampala, Uganda for the ‘Workshop on Challenging the Ballot Box: Assessing the Implications of Kenya Crisis for Democratic Transition in Africa’.
Prof. Dorothy McCormick	was in Shanghai, China March 12-20, 2008, for the ‘6th Shanghai Workshop on Global Governance “China Europe-Africa Cooperation: Chances and Challenges”’ where she was a Panel Presenter; April 14-17, 2008, in South Africa for the ‘Meeting of Provisional Project Leaders of Volvo Centre of Excellence’; and in Tanzania, April 28-30, 2008, for the ‘Meeting of Africa Clothing and Footwear Research Network’
Prof. Winnie Mitullah	was in Dakar, Senegal for the ‘Afrobarometer Roundtable planning Workshop’, November 27 to December 8, 2007; in France and Brussels between March 9-20, 2008, for the ‘Launch of Collaborative Research on East Africa Territory Ingration with Globalisation and Meeting for Research on Managing East African Cities’; and in South Africa for the ‘Launch Meeting’ of the joint IDS-Nairobi and University of Cape Town, ACET Research Project, April 14-23, 2008.
Prof. Mohamud Jama	was in Djibouti, May 25-30, 2008, for the ‘Greater Horn Horizon Initiative Executive Committee and Expert Seminar’
Prof. Njuguna Ng’ethe	was in Mozambique for the World Bank and Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) ‘Seminars on Higher Education and Economic Development in Africa’ May 2-9, 2008.
Prof. Charles Okidi	was at the ‘6th International Congress on Environmental Law’ in Brazil from May 26 to June 2, 2008.
Dr. Onjala	attended the ‘Workshop Scoping Study on China-Africa Relations’ in Tanzania from November 27 to December 7, 2007; and the ‘Workshop on Economic Incentives and Policy Instruments for Managing Water’ in South Africa from March 10-15, 2008.
Dr. Mary Kinyanjui	will be on Sabbatical Leave at Open University, UK and at the United Nations Research Institute (UNRISD), Geneva, Switzerland, for the period April 1 to December 31, 2008
Dr. Munguti Kaendi	is on Leave of Absence with an USAID-Kenya support project at the Ministry of Public Health, Malaria Control Division for the period May 1, 2008 to April 30, 2010.
