National League Games

The University of Nairobi has involved its teams in various competitions both internally and externally. The internal competitions include inter classes, inter faculties and inter disciplinary at college level and inter campuses at the university levels. The university teams participate in tournament within and around Nairobi, outsides Nairobi and within east Africa region. The following teams are in the national league:

Rugby:

• Rugby team (machine1&2) participate in Kenya cup and Eric Shirley leagues respectively.

• Machine one is teamed up with the top  teams in the country.

• Machine two is teamed up with team one's of other universities and team two's of the top clubs.

• Machine 1 has performed well in the previous five years but went down last season because of the following factors:

• Over half of the team registered with other clubs that offered better incentives; such clubs are; Homeboiz, Mwamba, Nandhies and Harlequins.

• During the 2 years gap before students join public universities, good players register with top performing clubs and it becomes difficult to persuade them to the university side; this period is long enough to develop attachment to a team.

• Due to financial constrains some players are not able to join the team especially during holidays when fixtures are not funded.

Basketball

• The university of Nairobi basketball team (terrorist) is participating in the KBF  Men premier league.

• The current league season started in Apirl 2012 and our team has registered great improvement.

• The team is at the top of the standings and has displayed excellence performance this season.

• . This is a s a result of the teams commitment in training and high level discipline.
