UoN admits over 4,300 first year students

First year students register at the College of Education and External Studies.

The University of Nairobi has received over 4,300 first year students for the Academic Calendar 2018/19/20. The first years reported on Monday, September 10, 2018 are the KCSE 2017 cohort.

The students are registered as either regular or module II, in the Colleges of Architecture and Engineering, Biological and Physical Sciences, Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences and Education and External Studies.

The students will undergo a week-long orientation in which they will be exposed in detail to the facilities in their respective colleges and campuses and in general to those of the entire University. The orientation week is meant to assist the students settle down and adjust to the new life with ease.  Various aspects that will form part of the student’s lifestyle during their stay in the University have been addressed.

The highlight of the orientation week is the address by University officials and the final address by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi, on Thursday, September 13, 2018, which all freshers are expected to attend.

First years admitted to the College of Health Sciences will report on Monday, October 22, 2018, while those of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences will report in 2019.

The University congratulates and welcomes all the students who have been selected for various degree programmes at this premier university.
