The University of Nairobi in partnership with a consortium of Universities, Research and Development Organizations, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries and in conjunction with the World Food Preservation Center (WFPC) is organizing the 1st All Africa Postharvest Congress and Exhibition. The congress which is scheduled for 28th to 31st March, 2017 will be held at the Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.

The Congress, whose theme is Reducing Food Losses and Waste: Sustainable Solutions for Africa”,seeks to contribute to the global agenda of reducing postharvest food loss and waste.  It seeks to define actionable solutions to reverse the current trend where an estimated 30 per cent or 1.3 billion metric tons of food produced for human consumption is lost or wasted along various supply chains.
